Darrell Thomas, a beloved 58-year-old car wash owner from Detroit’s Eastside, passed away on June 15. But even in death, his final wish was to give back to the community he loved so deeply.

On June 27, his sons carried out his last wish in the most breathtaking and heartwarming way: a helicopter flew over his car wash, Showroom Shine Express, showering the street below with $5,000 in cash and rose petals. As the money and petals gently descended, neighbors watched in awe, struck by the beauty of the moment. It wasn’t just a display of generosity—it was a symbol of Darrell’s lifetime of kindness.
