A Bear With a Sweet Tooth: Honey Ice Cream Heist in Tahoe

In Tahoe, locals were buzzing about a new monthly flavor at the neighborhood ice cream shop: honey. Customers couldn’t get enough of it—but neither could one very unexpected visitor.
On just the second day of serving it, employees opened the store to a shocking scene: tubs of honey ice cream completely licked clean, and a massive black bear stretched out on the floor, sound asleep after his sugary feast.
Wildlife officers were called in and carefully escorted the drowsy intruder out. Luckily, the bear was unharmed—just full and very satisfied.
Experts later explained why the ice cream was irresistible: bears have a sense of smell up to seven times stronger than a bloodhound’s, able to detect scents from miles away. One whiff of honey ice cream was all it took to lure him in.
As for the shop owner? He could only laugh:
“Honestly, I hope he comes back—that’s the fastest we’ve ever sold out!”
